Taking place across three venues (Caruso, a Belmond Hotel; Duomo di Amalfi; and Villa Cimbrone), S&A’s wedding was a truly classic affair, drawing inspiration from the venue itself and scattering this throughout all elements.

Dusty blue was the main hue of choice, which was inspired by the colour of the view from Terrazza dell’Infinito (Infinity Terrace in English, and it is also known as the Belvedere Terrace) at Villa Cimbrone. Lemons featured in the invitation designs, as well as on the specially designed monogram featuring the pair’s initials.

S&A opted for an intimate destination wedding with only close friends and family to share in the celebrations. They had previously visited Villa Cimbrone on holiday, and were so enamoured with its beauty that they chose it as their wedding reception venue.

The grand ceremony was held at The Cathedral of St. Andrew in Amalfi (otherwise known as Duomo di Amalfi), which is located a 20-minute drive away from Villa Cimbrone. Abundant floral arrangements in stone vases marked the entrance and the altar, while the aisle was lit with the soft glow of candleabras in the heights of the magnificent arches.

Amongst the DIY creations were the confetti cones, ribbons for menu decorations and the holy matrimony book – small, special touches that brought out S&A’s personalities.

The wedding party moved to Villa Cimbrone for the reception, where the cocktails flowed in the fairy gardens under the gentle canopies of the olive trees.

As guests freely wandered around the property to mingle and take photos, we set up the wedding dinner tables in the crypt, with its stunning vaulted ceiling adding to the grandeur of the event. The candles were lit, and we asked the guests to be seated for their meal – it was a delight, as always, to see their faces as they saw the room for the first time.

Dusky blue featured throughout the tablescape in the runner and in the menus. The cake, by Provence cakemaker Made In Cake, featured all blue icing with a delicate white floral design decorating the first two tiers. It was specifically requested that the cakemaker use Amalfi lemons in the cake to reflect the soul of the wedding venue.

The next day, we organised a fairwell cruise for the couple and their guests, taking them across the water to Positano for some time to explore. We always recommend taking a boat trip when visiting the Amalfi Coast, as it is such an awe-inspiring way to see this beautiful corner of the world.
